RECULTIVATION OF DEGRADED SURFACES AT THE LOCATION OF THE CEROVO SURFACE MINE

Abstract

Mine tailings will be disposed of from open pits KBC2 and KBC3 to the internal disposal site of open pit C1 and disposal site C1 South. The analysis of the state of the landscape after the formation of the final contour of the open pite and waste dump at the Cerovo location indicates that the conditions created at the end of the exploitation period will be such that the concept of technical and biological reclamation should be adapted to the function of achieving visual harmony of the disturbed environment with the surrounding undisturbed environment, using species adapted to the ecological conditions that prevail on the newly created degraded areas. The planned reclamation process includes grassing and afforestation of degraded areas.
