GRAVEL EXTRACTION AND PROCESSING FROM THE INSIDE DUMP OF THE COVIN MINE

The underwater exploitation of coal and associated sediments in the Danube riverside, at the Kovin Mine, began in 1991 and has continued continuously until today. Overburden that were excavated in the process of coal mining (sand and silty gravel) were deposited in the excavated area, that is the inside dump.
The subject of this article is the chosen technical solution for the extraction and processing of gravel from the inside dump of the Kovin Mine, using the exploitation system: floating dredger-pipeline-processing plant.
